Hello,
Earlier this month, as part of the research process for YPC Global, I visited the region Calabria which is located on the foot of Italy, to see what the region had to offer in terms of properties and facilities. I flew from Stanstead and was met by a representative there and driven to the hotel.
The drive took just over an hour and the route took us through the Aspromonte mountain range which was stunning. Arrival at the hotel, I had an hour to relax before meeting with Pete, who was showing me around. We viewed some locations of developments and saw a lot of the area. The area itself is very unspoilt with beautiful beaches, coves, dunes and lots of protected areas. The region is still extremely Italian and there was very little English spoken allowing the feel of traditional Italy.
The following day I was taken to some more developments, some coastal, some inland and was impressed with the selection of locations, the plans of each development. One thing which I noticed was that they were not overloading the land with properties. Each development had plenty of green areas, communal areas communal pools and one even had an amphi-theatre giving a feeling of space which complemented the area very well.
I managed to sample the Italian cuisine when I was there which was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed my fact-finding tour. Calabria is a region which is very new to international investment and is achieving some excellent growth at the moment and the accessibility is good and will continue to improve as the place becomes more prominent in people’s minds.
